Pita (ピタ) is an original character created for Sanrio English Master. They're a happy and slightly mischievous mood-maker who loves to play with their best friend Eddy as well as their other friends, Arie and Noah. Pita originally didn't have a birthday, so August 7, or banana day, was chosen by Eddy's parents. Pita treasures their banana-shaped bed, and their favorite catchphrases are "yippie!" and "woo-hoo!" They like dancing and singing and are skilled at forming into various shapes.
Eddy and Pita are a duo under the name BuddyEddy (バディエディ).
Background
Pita was created alongside researchers with toddlers' interests in mind. Several characters were presented to a large group of young children, including Pita, while researchers used eye-tracking technology to track which characters were most appealing. It was also noted that Pita's reddish color is stimulating and attractive, as is their round shape.
